Difference between MTA and STA (Meadium-Term Accommodation and Short-Term Accommodation)

Difference between MTA and STA (Short-Term Accommodation and Medium-Term Accommodation)

Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA) funding pays for the cost of accommodation at a temporary place to live while transitioning to long-term accommodation such as Supported Independent Living (SIL) or Specialised Disability Accommodation (SDA). MTA funding will not cover the cost of any support services that may be required. Funding for support services will likely come out of a participant’s core funding. MTA is usually funded for up to 90 days but in some case can be extended.

Short-term accommodation (STA), including respite, includes funding for both disability support services and cost of accommodation for a short time away from a participant’s usual home up to 14 days at a time.

At I-Help Disability Services, we have a range of STA and MTA options so feel free to get in touch.
