Individualised Living Options (ILO)

We’re happy to announce that we are now providing Individual Living Options (ILO).

Individual Living Options (ILO) are living arrangements that focus on the individual and was introduced to the NDIS to provide participants with more options regarding the supports they receive, so that they have a greater choice and control over the people with whom they live, where they live, and how their support is provided, allowing participants to choose to live alone, with friends, family, or a host. Primary supports are delivered by the people you live with. They help with the supports you need every day in your home. A combination of factors such as your circumstances, choices, and home and living goals will be considered when determining the level of support to be provided by hosts or housemates. ILO requires for participants to be 18 years and over, receive a minimum 6 hours a day of supports, and to not need registered nursing care as part of daily supports.

ILO support is an alternative to Supported Independent Living (SIL), which typically involves paid personal supports and is mostly used in shared living arrangements. SIL is better suited for a participant who requires higher support needs including 24/7 care.
