World MS day
Today we’re raising awareness for World MS day.
Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease. In MS, the body’s own tissues are attacked by the immune system. The immune system attacks the myelin that protects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord in MS. Their capacity to communicate with the rest of the body is interfered with by this. Signals that transmit information between the brain and spinal cord and the rest of the body may be slowed or blocked by the damage.
