Community Participation Tailored to the Interests, Needs and Goals of NDIS Participants
I-Help Disability Services support workers assist NDIS participants to access personalised community activities tailored to their interests, needs and goals. Community participation includes assistance with community access, taking public transport, participating in hobbies, sports, or attending medical appointments. These supports promote inclusion, skill development, and social connection.
The NDIS supports people with disability to achieve independence and social participation by funding assistance for social and recreational activities. These activities are considered essential for health and wellbeing. NDIS funding allows participants to have support workers accompany participants for social and recreational activities if the support aligns with their plan goals and is deemed reasonable and necessary.
