Metro Trains has joined the global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower initiative to provide support for passengers living with an invisible disability. Sunflower items like lanyards, wristbands, or badges signal to others that they have a hidden disability and may need assistance or simply a bit more time.

Hidden disabilities include autism, vision impairments, chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, brain injuries, hearing loss, mental health issues, and dementia.

Free Sunflower lanyards, wristbands, and badges can be acquired at the following Melbourne train stations:

Flagstaff

Flinders Street

Footscray

Melbourne Central

Newport

North Melbourne

Parliament
