My Short-Term Accommodation (STA) Experience

One of our participants, Mahmood explains his experience transitioning into Short-Term Accommodation while his bathroom and bedroom are being renovated at home.

I-HDS Short-Term Accommodation helps you and your family or carer sustain balanced life. STA gives you the chance to explore opportunities, make new friends, learn new skills, and have a break from home. Our accommodation is offered on a short-term, emergency, or planned basis, and includes overnight options. I-HDS short-term accommodation is based in Preston. Your stay depends on your specific needs, however, are generally limited to 1-2 weeks at a time. We offer Short Term Accommodation every day and night of the year. We are conscious of your compatibility with staff and other participants when making reservations. The level of support provided differs allowing to an individual’s needs. Our friendly staff are fully qualified, and our accommodation is a home-like environment, so you will be experiencing relaxed when away from your home.  

Facilities include an ensuite that is suitable for wheelchair accessibility, self-contained kitchenette, workstation, wireless internet, air-conditioning, LCD TV with Foxtel, in-room safe, modern features and filled with lots of natural light. The rooms are a fashionable open plan design overlooking Melbourne and its surrounds. The living room includes a lounge and dining area, and a fridge. Rooms also feature a business desk, broadband internet, LCD TV with Foxtel, self-controlled reverse-cycle air-conditioning, and in-room safe. 

*Excellent location – Public transport including buses, trams, and trains, as well as restaurants, shops and parks are all within walking distance. 

*Can move in as soon as two weeks after enquiring.
