Supported Decision Making (SDM) Hub
Inclusion Australia, the NDIA and Department of Social Services (DSS) has launched a new website, the Supported Decision-Making Hub .
Hosted on the Disability Gateway website, the SDM Hub is a valuable resource created to promote independence and informed decision-making for people with disability, their families, and support networks.
What the SDM Hub Offers:
- Clear, accessible information to help people understand what supported decision making is and why it matters.
- Resources for everyone, whether you’re a person with disability, a family member, carer, friend, or professional.
- Practical tools to help build skills and confidence in making decisions about life areas like:
- Health
- Housing
- Employment
- Money and finance
- Legal matters
- Relationships
- Communication
- Specialised content for children, young people, and older adults with disability.
- Training and education materials for supporters and decision-making allies.
- Help when you need it – users can contact the Disability Gateway directly on 1800 643 787 for guidance.
The SDM Hub empowers people with disability to stay in control of their choices — with the right support, at the right time. It’s not about taking over decisions — it’s about ensuring everyone has the tools they need to live life their way.
