Supported Independent Living (SIL) Partners Conference hosted by Empowered Liveability
Danika Dillon and Marcus Cook from I-Help Disability Services had the pleasure of attending Empowered Liveability‘s SIL Partners Conference last week. Thanks for Nicole Makin-Doherty and the team at EL for the invitation and putting on such a great event. The event was a treasure trove of information, with a lineup of guest speakers who shared their wealth of experience in the disability sector. There was also some great opportunities to network with other providers. Shoutout to the panellists, including Joel Scott from Arete Care, Kane Nuttall from The Power In You Project, and Melody Carbarns from Housing Hub just to name a few of the many who provided invaluable insights.
It was impressive to hear about EL’s ongoing commitment to making the SDA process a seamless and empowering experience for NDIS participants and SIL providers alike, as well as the upcoming innovative tenancy options.
There were some inspiring conversations brought up around collaboration and growth in the SIL provider community. It was amazing to hear Danika and Fiona Lock speak about the importance of SIL providers coming together to cross-refer and ensure the best possible outcomes for participants. The idea of SIL providers growing and learning together resonated with many in the room, and we’re excited to see this momentum build.
If you’re a SIL provider who shares our passion for collaboration and participant-centered care, we’d love to hear from you! Let’s work together to make the matching process for SIL-funded participants more efficient and effective.
