Here at I-Help Disability Services, our Short Term Disability Accommodation (STA) and Medium Term Disability Accommodation (MTA) provide a safe, welcoming environment with 24/7 personalised support tailored to each participant’s individual needs and goals.
Our STA and MTA options are typically funded at shared support ratios, giving participants the chance to connect socially and share meaningful experiences. However, we also understand that some individuals may require more personalised care. That’s why we offer immediate capacity for 1:1 Short Term or Medium Term Disability Accommodation, ensuring participants receive the dedicated attention and tailored assistance they need to feel safe, comfortable, supported, and truly at home.
Whether you are seeking a short break, recovery time after hospital, or a stepping stone to more permanent housing, our focus is always on comfort, independence, and continuity of care. Participants benefit from engaging activities, opportunities to develop daily living skills, and the chance to connect with others—all within a supportive, nurturing, and home-like setting designed to promote wellbeing and independence.
Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA)
MTA funding covers the cost of accommodation while you wait for long-term housing to be confirmed, such as Supported Independent Living (SIL) or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). This funding helps bridge the gap during these important transitions.
- Funded through your Core Supports budget
- Typically available for up to 90 days
- Extensions may be possible depending on your circumstances
- MTA gives you the comfort and stability you need while longer-term supports are being finalised.
Short-Term Accommodation (STA)
STA including respite, provides funding for both support and accommodation for a brief stay away from your usual home. It can last for up to 14 days at a time, or up to up to 28 days a year offering a refreshing change of pace for you and a break for your carers or family.
Our STA services are:
- Available Nationally, specifically Metro Melbourne and South-East Queensland
- Offered on a planned, emergency, or overnight basis
- Available every day and night of the year
- Tailored to your needs, usually lasting 1–2 weeks per stay
- Delivered by qualified, friendly staff in a comfortable, home-like setting
- Focused on your compatibility with staff and other participants
